Moving Day

  • What To Expect On Moving Day

You can expect a polite crew to arrive on time and ready to accomplish your move in a professional manner. Below are some tips on making your moving day as smooth as possible. Feel free to ask questions.
  • Check the inventory list:

Please review the inventory list provided to you. The amount quoted for your move is based on the items listed, as well as conditions (stairs, long walks, steep driveways). If you notice any errors, or changes that need to be made please let us know as soon as possible. Any changes will effect the price of your move. You don’t want any surprises on the day of the move.
  • Pets and Children

Please have all pets secluded or away on the day of your move. You may want to look into kenneling them for the day (the pets, not the children). You may want to make childcare arrangements.
  • Make sure all walkways and driveways are clear of any obstructions.

Before the movers arrive please clear any walkways or driveways the movers will be using. If you need to make arrangements to reserve a parking space please do so prior to the day of the move. You may want to sweep the walkways and driveways before the movers arrive, to prevent tracking of dirt or mud into your home. Please also remove any loose floor coverings.
  • Have all boxes packed, taped and ready to be moved.

Please have all of your boxes ready prior to the movers arrival. The boxes should be taped, top and bottom. They should be clearly labeled (living room, dining room, master bedroom, etc.) on the top of the box and at least one side. All items that can be packed should be packed. The only items that should be left in drawers are clothing. All other items must be removed.
  • Disassemble any items prior to the movers arrival.

Unless arrangements have been made prior to the move date, please disassemble and disconnect any items. (washer/dryer, mirrors attached to dressers, cribs, desks, etc.) You must disconnect and reconnect any electronic equipment (DVD/VCR, cable box, stereo, surround sound, phones, etc.).
  • Hazardous Materials

All lawnmowers, leaf blowers, etc. must be drained of fuel. All propane tanks should be removed from barbecue pits prior to the move date. We cannot transport propane tanks, fuel tanks, or any hazardous materials.
  • Where would you like your items placed?

If possible, please have in mind where you would like your items placed at your new house.

  • Payment

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. We also accept checks for in town moves (excluding storage). Cash and money orders are accepted under any circumstances. Tips are welcomed, but not expected.

**If you have moved items ahead, be sure you haven’t blocked any high traffic areas.
